The Heritage PRA announces the Heritage PRA ‘Mobility: courses and exchange’ (second edition) mini-GRANTS call, funded under the action ‘Incentives Programme’ for projects dealing with the areas defined in the Heritage PRA Strategy (available at: https://id.uj.edu.pl/heritage in the tab Strategy 2020-2025) and for the dissemination of their results.

Submitted in the call may be research projects in the humanities and social sciences.

  1. Prospective entrants:

Prospective entrants are:

  • Academic teachers employed by Jagiellonian University, who carry out research in accordance with the EI.JU objectives, in particular research and technical staff, library staff or research-information staff, as well as foreign language assistants employed by the University.

 

  1. Terms of entry in the call:
  • Under the teaching and education mini-grant ‘Mobility: courses and exchange,’ funding may be awarded to the following actions carried out in collaboration with foreign research centres:
    • Residential courses and projects and exchange of student and doctoral student groups
  • Residential courses and projects shall be understood as such courses and projects as are offered by a JU entity under a study programme.
  • Exchange of student and doctoral student groups shall be understood as residence of JU students and doctoral students at an academic centre abroad or residence of a foreign academic centre’s students or doctoral students at JU. Such stays may but do not have to be part of study programmes offered by JU or the foreign academic centre.
  • A teaching and education mini-grant ‘Mobility: courses and exchange’ does not serve the purpose of improving individual employee, student or doctoral student mobility.
  • Actions planned under a teaching and education mini-grant ‘Mobility: courses and exchange’ may be co-funded from other sources. Co-funding sources should be documented alongside information on their current status (planned proposal submission, submitted proposal, approved proposal).
  • Eligible costs:
    • Material costs

  2. Stays (accommodation, per diems, food, visas, insurance and other costs in accordance with the relevant legal regulations)
  3. Room rental
  4. Purchase of essential tangible and intangible assets
  5. Third-party services
  6. Other justified costs
  • Personal
  1. Remuneration for hosts
  2. Remuneration for the teachers of the education content: e.g. lectures, seminars, workshops and field classes
  • The goals of the teaching and education mini-grant ‘Mobility: courses and exchange’ should correspond with the goals of the EI.JU strategic programme and the Heritage PRA Strategy, in particular:
    • Involvement of students in the research
    • Summer schools
    • Launching courses and modules in collaboration with representatives of different centres abroad.
  • The call’s financial envelope is PLN 200,000.
  • The maximum amount of funding per mini-grant is PLN 20,000.
  • Implementation time frame of a teaching and education mini-grant ‘Mobility: courses and exchange’: from 1 January 2021 to 30 December 2022.
  • Persons carrying out a teaching and education mini-grant ‘Mobility: courses and exchange’ are required to present a final report within 30 days of the date of project completion dedclared in the proposal. The report may be published on the Herita PRA website.

 

  1. Submission dates and mode:
  • The call is open from 15 September 2021 to 31 October 2021 with submissions to be sent in on line through the system https://strefaid.uj.edu.pl (log in using the university account credentials).
  • The call shall be open on the platform on 16 September 2021
  • Evaluation preliminary stage: 15 November 2021
  • Upon closing the call the proposals are subject to formal evaluation, in particular reviewed for completeness, correspondence with the goals of the EI.JU strategic programme and the Heritage PRA Strategy.
  • The Evaluation Committee may return a proposal and demand that it be completed within a stated period of time.
  • Proposals in which the cost estimate does not include individual eligible costs with explanation of the components and justification of the amounts adopted, rendering the evaluation of budget relevance impossible, shall be considered incomplete. Projects should be planned in accordance with the principle of economy, i.e. in a purpose-oriented and purposeful manner which at the same time yields the best possible effects.
  • Proposals filled out with ineligible costs, or incomplete proposals, shall be returned for correction. The Applicant is obliged to complete an on line proposal in the system https://strefaid.uj.edu.pl before the date indicated by the Evaluation Committee. In the event of failure to make good the irregularities within the stated period of time the proposal shall be disregarded.
  • Work in the project should commence no earlier than 1 January 2022.

 

  1. Date and manner of announcing the results:
  • The call results (ranking list of the projects recommended for funding) are planned to be announced on the Heritage PRA website on: 30 November 2021.
  • The call committee awards the proposals points ranging from 0 to 100, provided that:
    • the proposal’s merit-based value and its teaching and education potential, taking into account its compliance with the EI.JU Strategy and goals, may be awarded up to: 50 points
    • budget relevance may be awarded up to 30 points
    • schedule of research tasks may be awarded up to15 points
    • Compliance with the mission of Jagiellonian University may be awarded up to 5 points.
  • Proposals awarded below 30 points for merit-based value and teaching and education potential or proposals awarded below 60 points in total, shall not be awarded funding.
  • Proposals requesting in total more than PLN 20,000 are subject to evaluation by experts (§ 15.1 of Terms and Conditions).
