Purchase of the FlexStation3 Multi-Mode Microplate Reader
As part of purchases funded by the qLife PRA (ID.UJ Programme), a FlexStation3 Multi-Mode Microplate Reader with pipettor head from Molecular Devices was acquired. The device is a multi-mode microplate reader with wide range of possible applications in preclinical pharmacology and toxicology research that enables measurements of both absorbance, fluorescence intensity, fluorescence polarization, luminescence, and time-resolved fluorescence, i.e. it features virtually all technologies commonly used in biochemical and cellular molecular pharmacology assays.
A unique feature of the FlexStation device is the integrated 16-channel pipetting system, which enables closely controlled and precise measurement of reagents during the experiment. The pipetting system is integrated into the body of the device so that the results can be read out practically as soon as the reagents are added to the microtiter plate wells. This feature allows the FlexStation to be used especially for the analysis of reactions with very fast kinetics.
The purchase was made with funding from the qLIFE Priority Research Area within the framework of the Strategic Programme “Excellence Initiative” at Jagiellonian University.
