Dear All,

As part of the strategic program, the Excellence Initiative at the Jagiellonian University (EI JU) - the Priority Research Area (PRA) "Quality of research for quality of life - qLife" and the Priority Research Area (PRA) "Structural and translational biology - BioS", announces a grant call aimed at financing interdisciplinary team research projects carried out as part of the BioS and qLife research topics.

A research team applying for funding must consist of at least two Jagiellonian University employees, holding at least a doctoral degree and with at least 3 international publications. The research team must include at least one employee from a unit which is part of PRA BioS and at least one employee from a unit which is part of PRA qLife. The research team leader acts on behalf of the applicant in the grant application procedure.

The description of the submitted project must include:

  1. clearly defined research goal that justifies the need for cooperation of various research teams (the research goal may or may not be related to the research conducted so far by the research teams),
  2. information about the innovativeness of the submitted project,
  3. description of the results obtained so far (justifying the continuation of research on a selected topic) or scientific justification for undertaking a new research topic,
  4. brief description of the planned research together with a cost estimate.

The maximum duration of the project is 24 months. The maximum amount of funds allocated to a single project is PLN 100 000.

Formal evaluation of the submitted projects will be performed by the Recruitment Committee, which includes representatives of PRA BioS and PRA qLife Steering Teams (1 member from each PRA) and Coordinators of both PRAs. The scientific evaluation of the submitted projects will be done by external reviewers.

The call for applications will be open until September 30, 2020. The winning proposals will be announced by December 1, 2020.
