SocietyNow!#1 competition results
Dear All!
On behalf of the Expert Review Panel and the Coordinating Team of the Excellence Initiative program at the Jagiellonian University, we would like to thank everyone who took part in the SocietyNow! #1 research funding competition. We received as many as 87 applications. This shows that the Jagiellonian University’s community was able to react quickly and responsibly to the crisis situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since the Expert Review Panel held that the vast majority of the proposed projects were of high quality, the Coordinating Team decided to increase the total of the competition funds three times. This has secured funding for 21 of the submitted projects.
We believe that the social capital created within the framework of the competition must not be wasted. Therefore, we started working on new initiatives within the SocietyNow! Project. We hope that they will allow us to harness – in one form or another – the research ideas which have not received funding at this stage.
Leaders of the research teams which have received funding by the decision of the Expert Review Panel will receive email information about the next steps. Other interested persons are requested to please follow the website of the Excellence Initiative at the Jagiellonian University program for upcoming announcements. As the SocietyNow! project develops, we will also contact some of you directly.
Once again, we would like to extend our thanks to all competition participants.
