Open Access - Publication Funding in the Anthropocene Priority Research Area

Date: 01.12.2020 - 28.02.2021
Organiser: Uniwersytet Jagielloński
Open Access - Publication Funding in the Anthropocene Priority Research Area

The call is addressed to the JU academic teachers and doctoral students and it offers funding to open-access publication of a research paper, a monograph, or a chapter in a monograph as well as the cost of translation or proofreading. Anthropocene PRA supports publishing in renowned scientific journals (at least 140 points in the Inventory by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education) and publishers (second tier in the Inventory by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education).

The call implements the “Open Access” Policy carried out under the Strategic Programme Excellence Initiative at the Jagiellonian University (Action 6 EI.JU).

The topics of the publications proposed under the call should be related to any of the three research domains and address the problems covered by the disciplines specified in the strategy of the Anthropocene PRA.

Funding proposals under the call may be submitted by authors who are employed by the Jagiellonian University as academic teachers, doctoral students enrolled in the JU’s doctoral schools and doctoral students enrolled in programmes commenced before the year 2019/2020.

The call offers an opportunity to have one’s open access publication cost and article processing charges (APC) covered when publishing a research paper, a monograph, a chapter in a monograph, and also to receive funding of proofreading or translation into a foreign language of high-quality research publications by renowned publishers and scientific journals.

In the call’s first edition (autumn-winter 2020/2021), the total funding allocated amounts PLN 315,000.

The call for proposals opens on 1 December 2020 and is continuous. The deadline for submitting proposals in this edition is 28 February 2021. Proposals must be submitted using an electronic entry form available at https://strefaid.uj.edu.pl/Konkurs?kod=1f7a6d07-d960-4a3d-a97a-cd936e2e7f57.

The call’s results will be announced on the website anthropocene.id.uj.edu.pl once the entry has been evaluated, within 14 days (in the case of funding of a research paper) or 40 days (in the case of funding of, among other things, a monograph or a translation of a monograph) of proposal submission.

The list of reviewers, members of the evaluation team, is available on the website anthropocene.id.uj.edu.pl.

More information on the call can be found in the call’s terms and conditions and annexes thereto: template entry form (the call entry form may be filled out on line), template proposal evaluation form drawn up by reviewers, and template report on project completion.

To navigate the form, use the guidelines.
