The purpose of the presentation is to present the strategic research areas of the pre-LAB GCS. Therefore, the aim of our meeting is to present the definition of complex systems and the adaptability of their tools in the analysis of social phenomena based on an interdisciplinary methodology that draw from the sciences of politics, administration, economics, finance, management and quality, security studies, as well as studies about culture and religion. The complexity of the modern world and social phenomena determines the necessity to analyze selected phenomena in terms of many paradigms and theories that are characteristic of science. Thus, the application of the complex systems approach guarantees the innovative character of the conducted research and potential scientific results. The case study we have selected is a comparative analysis of selected economic crises (Asian Financial Crisis, Global Financial Crisis and Covid-19 crisis) in the perspective of complexity. Furthermore, we will present priority pre-LAB research and development goals based on the 4I principle.
