Results of the call for research minigrants in DigiWorld 2020
The call saw 66 submissions. By recommendation of the evaluation committee funding was awarded to 16 projects, which resulted in increasing the overall budget of the call to PLN 754,220. Below we present information on both the applicants and laureates, the laureate list, the members of the expert reviewer team and call statistics.
The maximum score in the call was 25 points. Recommended for funding were projects scoring at least 16 points. Detailed reviews including justifications will be uploaded to the submission management system at digiworld.cm-uj.krakow.pl, where they will be available to the applicants.
In spite of an increase in funding, the number of high-quality research proposals received was by a large margin higher than the call’s financial capacities. Hence when awarding the mini-grants in most cases decisive were the criteria of interdisciplinarity of the research and its innovation potential in light of the DigiWorld PRA strategy. All projects recommended for funding are highly interdisciplinary, while a vast majority combines the advancement of new methods in machine learning and advanced computational methods with their innovative applications in other scientific disciplines.
We will contact the awarded project managers to grant them powers of attorney to disburse the funding, and to inform them of other administrative matters. With queries please contact the Office of the EI.JU (bartek.konecko@uj.edu.pl) with CC: digiworld@uj.edu.pl. Please type in [Minigranty DigiWorld 2020/1] in the subject of your message.
Our heartiest congratulations to the laureates! Our thanks to all participants for showing their interest in the call!
