Destined for War? India’s Policy Towards China, Pakistan and Beyond

We invite you to participate in the fourth seminar of the Global Tuesdays series organized by Global Trends Lab in cooperation with Popularisation Gate as part of the Strategic Program Excellence Initiative at the Jagiellonian University.
 
The aim of the Global Tuesdays project is to promote research on pivotal aspects related to international relations, political science and security studies and increase its impact in the society and among partners from the socio-economic environment.
 
The topic of the seminar is: Destined for War? India’s Policy Towards China, Pakistan and Beyond
The seminar will be held on Tuesday, November 24, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.

Bios:

Agnieszka Kuszewska, PhD, is a political scientist, Associate Professor at the Institute of the Far and Middle East, Jagiellonian University; a member of European Association for South Asian Studies. She specializes in international relations, conflict and security studies, geostrategic, political, and socio-economic specificity of South Asia. An author of the following books: Indo-Pakistani Kashmir conflict; India and Pakistan in international relations: conflicts, strategies and security; Understanding Pakistan. Radicalization, terrorism and other challenges.
 
Michał Lubina, PhD, is doctor habilitated (associate professor) of political science at the Jagiellonian University, Krakow, Poland. His research interests include: contemporary Burma/Myanmar and Russia-China relations. He is the author of eight books (three in English), including A Political Biography of Aung San Suu Kyi (Routledge: New York-Abington 2020) and Russia and China. A Political Marriage of Convenience (Budrich: Oppladen-Berlin-Toronto 2017) as well as pioneer works on Burma/Myanmar in Polish.
 
Roshni Sengupta, PhD, is Assistant Professor, Institute of Middle and Far East, Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland. She has earlier been Assistant Professor at the Leiden Institute of Area Studies, Leiden University, Netherlands and Fellow, International Institute for Asian Studies (IIAS), Leiden. Her research interests lie in media studies, South Asian politics and international relations. Roshni's monograph titled Reading the Muslim on Celluloid: Bollywood, Representation and Politics has been recently published by Primus India (February 2020).
 
Antonina Łuszczykiewicz, PhD, is affiliated with the Institute of the Middle and Far East of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland. She is an expert in political and cultural history of China, India, and China-India relations. She is currently a visiting scholar at Tamkang University within the framework of MOFA Taiwan Fellowship, Republic of China. She is an author of three books, including a recently published monograph dedicated to the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence discourse and its role in China-India relations (September 2020).
