Call #14 - Funding of a doctoral scholarship for doctoral students pursuing a doctoral programme at the Doctoral School of Medical and Health Sciences
Within the framework of the Strategic Programme Excellence Initiative at Jagiellonian University (ID.UJ) - Priority Research Area "Better Research for Better Quality of Life - qLIFE", announces Call #14 - "Funding of a doctoral scholarship for doctoral students pursuing a doctoral programme at the Doctoral School of Medical and Health Sciences".
The purpose of the call for proposals is to fund the costs of a doctoral scholarship for doctoral students pursuing a doctoral programme at SDNMiNoZ (Doctoral School of Medical and Health Sciences ) as part of interdisciplinary teams carrying out research projects withing the qLIFE PRA activities in the ID.UJ Programme and to enable the recruitment of doctoral students for a 6-semester interdisciplinary doctoral programme conducted in English, culminating in the submission of a dissertation. This activity, through the possibility of recruiting foreign doctoral students or Polish citizens who are graduates of foreign universities, is intended to support the internationalization of SDNMiNoZ.
The team applying for funding must consist of two academic teachers employed at different faculties of the JU MC, conducting scientific activity in different disciplines and having achievements in the form of a minimum of 3 publications, as well as a doctoral candidate for the JU MC Doctoral School of Medical and Health Sciences. The applicant, on behalf of the team, submits for evaluation a research project that fits into the research theme of the qLIFE PRA.
The project description must include:
- a clearly distinguished research objective that justifies the cooperation of the members of the team implementing the research project,
- information on what constitutes the innovativeness of the submitted project and the necessity of its interdisciplinary implementation,
- scientific grounds justifying the undertaking of a new or continuation of an existing research topic,
- a brief description of the planned research, with a clearly distinguished scope of involvement of the doctoral candidate
- the planned scope of internationalization (internships of the doctoral student in foreign centres, recruitment of doctoral students from abroad or Polish citizens who are graduates of foreign universities, research cooperation of the team with foreign centres).
Funding is awarded through a competition. The amount of funding for a single project is PLN 130,000 and the maximum duration of the project is 36 months (the same as the duration of training at SDNMiNoZ). Two projects are planned to be funded.
Funds granted within the framework of project fundinf may be used directly only to cover the costs of payment of a doctoral scholarship for a doctoral student in SDNMiNoZ in the amount determined for a given academic year by the Rector of JU.
The evaluation of the submitted projects will be carried out by the Commission appointed by the qLIFE PRA Coordinator after the approval of the qLIFE PRA Steering Team.
